Week theme: Societal Values

Been thinking of a theme for this week, but then I stumbled upon a discovery of the pains the society cause it's members:
I am a broken people
I have broken dreams
Slowly losing hope
as I watch my live
pass before my eyes
as in a film.
I want to be loved
By He whom I selected
not ignored
Same person who claim he was made
from this sand
I make him my leader
But then He dusts of the sand.
Steps on me like a ruler
With claims He is refined
I will Arise!

I Am the cry of the people
I am the hungry mass
forced to live in starvation
I am in the lowest class
He called me lazy
cause I stretch my hands
To receive milk like a baby
covered with dirt
in the streets
I know it is lazy
But is this not my land ?
Rich habitation flowing with milk and honey?
am I just an abandoned monkey?
I desired the honey
and was willing to work for it
but He wanted it all
So pushed me to the ground.
But now will I rise!!

My rights I will give to no man
No man except me shall lead my clan
I am the hope of the future
I am the bind and the suture
I shall unite my brothers
call forth the others
and together
WE SHALL ARISE
above the dusts of time
Above hungry beggars
waiting for food stamps on line
we will fight for our cause
we will stand as a force
Until once again our nation
Respects all of us.
Then we shall reclaim our lost glory
Lambs we may be
BUT WE WILL RISE AND RISE AGAIN UNTIL LAMBS BECOME LIONS!!!

ABOUT POEM:
I is the society, and He is the government. The pains of a careless government is never felt by the government, but by the masses.
This poem was written 6am(West African time) on 26th January 2016. (Cliché date)
