Just a normal day for someone in Nigeria
Thatch house sometimes can be a castle,
When you're living in harsh reality, you've to hustle,
Every morning, we go out everything's a struggle,
Got to get a bus quick, others just a huddle,
Set your mind is everyman for himself,
Life is no fairy tale for no one is an elf
Even salvation is personal
Bed of roses is imaginal
Think back to the days when i had no care
Thought like a child, i had no fears
Then Only had love and smiles to share
But reality changed me
When i realised i was no baby
I dropped my fantasies, no time to be lazy
Got to eat today, tomorrow might be hazy
Cant believe i once thought life would be easy
Had no worries going from place to place with so much effizy
Had no reason to work, only fun kept us busy
But fun now?
All we've got is sun now
Milk the cow
Work the plough
Teach in schools
Making shoes
Everybody has to work now.
They say money rules the world
Get the money, youve got the word
If mans the apex of evolution,then money is the lord
And thats got me thinking
Is our purpose on earth to make money
Or our goals just shrinking
Got to my destination
Jumped down No time for relaxation
Have to be quick to be on time for the occasion
Walked right in to the preacher at the end
Saying we're a chosen generation.

That we all chasing triviality
No one trying to create a legacy
Forgetting only legacy is immortality
Tired of being myopic

But i Aint got no plans for jeopardy

Got to be prepared for the next phase
Not make up on my face
But to tell people they need to change their ways

About a woman who lost her husband and child
To a useless religious cause thats all gone wild
Like a raging sea, its creating great tide
and the govt lukewarm even with those who died
Such a pain
Sometimes i wonder whats their gain
Killing without sympathy

Or devoid of humanity like a lifeless jane

But i feel her pains even if it doesnt show

With a youthful glow
She cant be more than 18

Cause i got to get to work
Or my life will be officially over
my pay is little or never
But my boss owns range rovers
Like a prostitute got lovers
Am not jealous in anyway
Cause am content in everyday
And am young
Barely 20 in age
But wishing our governors got advices from a sage
So they can atleast pay the minimum wage
Instead of bounding the hungry masses in a cage
Putting space between them and their food like a wedge
Because of unpaid salaries
Keeping the citizens on edge
like a suicide jumper
Standing on a ledge
Give him a hedge
And you just made yourself antagonist
In his dirge.
Fast forward to the end
Time to go home with the friend
Stays close to my house just by the bend
He is the only one i go to when i need a hand
or broke and need money as lend
In our country today
To borrow is like a trend
A tear in our foundation i think needs a mend.
Got home quick
Which is strange with the usual traffic
Would be on the way for hours unless by magic
Which is rather tragic
Sometimes makes me nostalgic
To go back to delta
But the life in this city is terrific.
I know my day wasnt great
But please dont hate
