HER PAIN

Image
She soaked her only solace in a pool of tears, With body cuddling the pillow Like it could save her From the kicks, blows And harsh curses rained on her, As reality had made her it's punching bag. Her mind once tucked in like the sheets, Now laid in shreads on the floor, Ripped apart by the pain and fear Of what comes next. Too much to bear,  She opened the window to let the pain out But the wind brought it back, collecting the pieces of her shattered mind, And placed them at its mercy. But as each piece danced, Moving in Synch to the airflows, On a path to the moon, She reached and clung to a single piece of her sanity, To not lose her mind completely. This piece she planted deep in her heart with hope,  that the moon will finally go to rest taking the darkness with him, Hope that morning will come with an end to the mourning Of lost hope And With a long rope wrapped around the sun Dragging the shine to her heart, To grow her back into perfect...

My house your home.

Image
The hope for a distant memory gone, A place in my heart you once belonged, at the shores of our time, When you desired to return. Returning to our alcove of Love, To the laughter and tears of you my beloved, A family of strangers, but you all I love, A carving for joy, that came from above. Made of rocks, shaped into a shelter, But I shielded you, from every weather, How you rested in these bowels when the stormy rain peltered. Childhood memories we shared, In passivity, but like a shadow I was there, A cold shoulder, your burden we beared, Like those nights, insomnia had you in fear. I am still a living memory of your tear, The hate residing in papa's cold stair, On a land mine, you treaded with care, But the resentment still sent you to the hostel. Now the cold holds my heart, tight in a grip, For the warmth of your presence, I can only plead, My bricks fail, and air stays stale, As These walls now wall an empty shell, A shell of who I once was,...

The stormy wind Brings with it tear drops To stand is strength But giants also fall Some say staying down Proves you're weak, But what is strength When you've lost your feet Not defeat. Just the piece that made you feel complete. It's easy to see Never easy to be To bear the weight of the cards that's dealt Is never as the pain of the strings of death Dying is living, and death is a new beginning the hopeless man still waits for the morning The mourning of an end End of his pain, The dawn of the day. Come home!

Image
When I think of what happened on the cross A man Died, but for all of us He was beating and hung like in a curse stabbed and crowed with thorns Not for any crime of his It was all my fault But He did it for my peace Little me with little worth Now the King's calling... Come on Black, white and all colour shade For you all have been saved  to the one who ain't got no preference  a place where there is no need for pretence  Come on To the one whose Love is never blind  Love that is kind  Love one of a kind   Love that is tender  One filled with signs and wonder Come on To the cross where Christ bled A place where flesh was made dead to a place of redemption  To be made free of sin and depression  Come on To a father and a friend  to the one who knows the beginning from the end Where help and mercy will never relent  to a place where his spirit will be felt Come o...

Bleeding Rose I cry , Like the rain drops from the sky And I ask myself why? Should I let my tender heart die. I'm broken Every time my heart is opened The shards of the pain ripping me apart For my misery has awoken Lonely me Where is thy walls that be? Shattered; who shall attend thy plea? For helpless is all I feel. To love again I see no gain To be one again Is a work in vane Scared Oh how I am scared My wounds will never heal Hurtful words you said Keeps me awake at night It's the symphony in my head Depression Weighing me down Like bricks for a crown Oh all I have now is reasons to frown But No more I will never fall Not for anybody Not now, never at all For I am the bleeding Rose Ripped off my petals Now you will feel my thorns For Hell knows no fury, like a woman scorned. About Poem: It speaks of a broken woman, a bleeding rose, whose heart  (petals) has been broken by the one she loved...not that deep though. About Autho...

A broken Hope

Image
I have been thinking, standing on this line been on a spot for so long, feels like am stuck in time but still I know, I will be just fine Once am done with this rhyme. Not so easy pain hurts sometimes, leaves me dizzy but what can a poor soul do when standing for my right only earns a boo! I look to the end of the queue So many strickened fellows all waiting to get their portion due no time for common hellos We are wounded daily by the government lies hurt so much we can't afford to look for rain in the skies once we had a voice, and we raised it at least we tried but they gave select few peanuts just so they can watch us cry What we pass through daily isnt a mystery the nation has us its labour force, but all we have is misery come down your high grounds oh government! Come make this nation stand I heard a change charge old soldier never dies, the face in the badge Anti-corruption I heard but all I can see is wolf in sheep stead Call me skeptical ...

Week theme: Societal Values

Image
Been thinking of a theme for this week, but then I stumbled upon a discovery of the pains the society cause it's members: I am a broken people I have broken dreams  Slowly losing hope as I watch my live pass before my eyes  as in a film. I want to be loved  By He whom I selected not ignored Same person who claim he was made from this sand  I make him my leader  But then He dusts of the sand. Steps on me like a ruler  With claims He is refined  I will Arise! I Am the cry of the people  I am the hungry mass forced to live in starvation  I am in the lowest class He called me lazy  cause I stretch my hands  To receive milk like a baby  covered with dirt  in the streets  I know it is lazy  But is this not my land ? Rich habitation flowing with milk and honey? am I just an abandoned monkey? I desired the honey and was willing to work for it  but H...

Be the judge.

Image
This is a poem that needs your opinion,  many times we try to place people under categories of being righteous or a sinner. Am going to present 2 separate situations to you all, be the judge if they are right or wrong. RIGHT OR WRONG? I once met a rich man Bought a Mercedes, Ferrari and a Toyota sedan Got a jet for his personal pleasure And a new beach house just for leisure Gifted his daughter An ipad, iwatch, and iPhone on her 13th birthday Just so he could hear her laughter As he outdid himself since her last birthday He got 15 servants who he pays comfortably And earnest so they don't bore him with their needs But a beggar who seats by his gate, He tries to avoid Not because of hate As he sometimes sympathises with the man's fate But he has the opinion no man's circumstances Should make him beg Plead another for substances As a righteous man is not suppose to beg Even proves it from bible scripture When he tries to paint himself in a perfect pi...

A Clarion call!!!

Thanks to you all who have consistently checked to share my world with me,I am absolutely greatful. Just passed the 500views mark, all thanks to yall. This is a celebratory poem!! Like the curls on a rose petal  Our love blooms like a young fetal Springing forth though with thorns  But it's part of our beautiful, for we are one. I love you, you love me  We all are a part of a whole body  Bound together  like lovers forever We might share different views  But it will never make us few  For we are legion Our names written in time  Will never go to oblivion. Others see a dying race  But we see amazing grace  Radiant smiles in all our faces Even with hate in the world  Racial and religious discrimination  We still share embraces For we are one  In the face of hate Love has won, Doesn't matter the colour of your skin,  The nature of your grin Or cleft nature of your chin Our differences all mak...

Review on Slavery!!!

This is a poem, and my understanding from all the slavery poems 1. Slavery is not just physical,  it is not only about whips and chains Sprouts and grows f rom the mind Like an imagination of pain. 2.  Slavery tends to disdain        not for the problem     But hate for the enslaver  The one who is crowned in diadem 3. Slavery can be self inflicted  For many reasons, like love unrequited Or a feeling of low self esteem When you feel you've been defeated 4. Slavery is still alive today  in so many ways I can not say  but the most common is addiction  to material lust and religious confusion 5. Slavery now is like a religion  self belief, that needs a decision  To either believe in something bigger or yourself Especially when both might conflict in your vision. Just my views on slavery.

This is the last piece on slavery, and it will blow your mind, after reading it.

The Leaves of Time Every child is like a seed thrown into time,  Naked at birth, without no dime, Bound by genes and nature  to have the mother or fathers feature. Every child grow with time  gain knowledge of what's true and what's a crime Either by learning or by experience  Conditioning of its mind with evidence  Every Child dreams with time  of a great future, to own something called "mine" Create imagination with perfect plan but life happens and it becones a man  Every Child works with time To have food and to own a dime  drop fantasies and face reality  cause dreams only end in poverty Every Child Loves with time  a soul mate to share the remaining time  Partner in life's future journey  Or just someone to call honey Every Child ages with time  As it slowly comes to the end of the line  either filled with peace or with regrets  for the ma...

THE CAGED BIRD The free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream till the current ends and dips his wings in the orange sun rays and dares to claim the sky. But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing. The caged bird sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom The free bird thinks of another breeze and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn and he names the sky his own. But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for th...

Slave to Love!!!

Slavery of your mind Living in the illusion you called love You feel it is one of a kind Ordained from above The one thing He craved was the very thing you gave You thought it was bravery to fall in love but I knew it was slavery when He could not get enough. Of what you could give but even at your detriment, you wouldnt leave your sacrifice was insufficient so you silently grieved. He never planned to fall like this Never believed in love until it hit him hard like bricks fell for your pretty face the way your hip sways kinda superficial I told him with you there was no thing special But He wouldn't listen wore his heart on his sleave now it's gone missing but He still holds on to the mirage of you loving him but I know to you taking him sounds like a sin Girl and Boy You are a slave to Love not wanting to Let go The roads are bent and curved I should let you know As you've walked out of track, look at the mirror and let your flaws sho...

Mental slavery!!!

Image
I listened to this song and I knew in an instant this is poetry! "Redemption Song" By Bob Marley Old pirates, yes, they rob I, Sold I to the merchant ships, Minutes after they took I From the bottomless pit. But my 'and was made strong By the 'and of the Almighty. We forward in this generation Triumphantly. Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? 'Cause all I ever have, Redemption songs, Redemption songs. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, None but our self can free our minds. Have no fear for atomic energy, 'Cause none of them can stop the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Some say it's just a part of it, We've got to fulfill de book. Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? 'Cause all I ever have, Redemption songs, Redemption songs, Redemption songs. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, None but our self can free our mind. Have no fear fo...

Still on slavery....

Mind slaves. The greatest form of slavery is to ones self, Self absorption or to ones fear. Either of both leads to Hell,   Not to hell, ignited by a great fire, A place bible foretold for all liars  but far worse is the hell,   Like a cancer curse, it will destroy you  even to your hair. It is a hell of self pity  Lack of self worth  or too much egocentricity. Hell in ones mind Fear that makes you blind.  forever you are bound In slavery chains,  bound to the ground. NO man can set you free Cause you can't stand but it's all in your mind.

Long Slavery poem alert!!!

This I call Redemption in Slavery.     T H E Sorrows of Yamba, To the Tune of Hosier's Ghost. By Hannah More "In St. Lucie's distant isle,      Still with Afric's love I burn; Parted many a thousand mile,      Never, never to return. Come, kind death! and give me rest,      Yamba has no friend but thee; Thou can'st ease my throbbing breast,      Thou can'st set the Prisoner free. Down my cheeks the tears are dripping,      Broken is my heart with grief; Mangled my poor flesh with whipping,      Come kind death! and bring relief. Born on Afric's Golden Coast,      Once I was as blest as you; Parents tender I could boast,      Husband dear, and children too. ( 4 ) Whity Man he came from far,      Sailing o'er the briny flood, Who, with help of British Tar,      Buys up human flesh and blood. With th...

Good morning to you all, and still in the message of Slavery

William Blake "The Little Black Boy" From Songs of Innocence (1789)  MY mother bore me in the southern wild,     And I am black, but O, my soul is white! White as an angel is the English child,     But I am black, as if bereaved of light. My mother taught me underneath a tree,     And, sitting down before the heat of day, She took me on her lap and kissèd me,     And, pointing to the East, began to say: 'Look at the rising sun: there God does live,     And gives His light, and gives His heat away, And flowers and trees and beasts and men receive     Comfort in morning, joy in the noonday. 'And we are put on earth a little space,     That we may learn to bear the beams of love; And these black bodies and this sunburnt face     Are but a cloud, and like a shady grove. 'For when our souls have learn'd the heat to bear,     The cloud will vanish; we shall hear His voice, ...

View from the past

Image
I have realised one thing, our devotion to a cause, can unite us, especially when we preach the past in hopes for a better future. This is why I had to feature a classic I read and fell in love with, even as a 10yrs old. Africa My Africa  By David Diop(1927-1960) Africa my Africa Africa of proud warriors in ancestral savannahs Africa of whom my grandmother sings On the banks of the distant river I have never known you But your blood flows in my veins Your beautiful black blood that irrigates the fields The blood of your sweat The sweat of your work The work of your slavery Africa, tell me Africa Is this your back that is unbent This back that never breaks under the weight of humilation This back trembling with red scars And saying no to the whip under the midday sun But a grave voice answers me Impetuous child that tree, young and strong That tree over there Splendidly alone amidst white and faded flowers That is your Africa sprin...

Week theme: poetic views on Slavery

Image
*Slaves of the highest order* We all are slaves  Slaves to our religion, Slaves to our decisions,  Slaves to a choice, Slaves without a choice, Slaves to the past, Slaves for the present, Slaves even before the future. Slaves! Slaves to our desires,  Slaves to our denials, Slaves to our lust and greed, Slaves to our culture and creed, Slaves in our mind, Slaves in different kinds  Slaves in our blood that we bleed, Slaves to our eyes when we see,  Slaves to our senses, Slaves sometimes out of senses, Slaves with a menses, Slaves in all sexes, Slaves!! Slaves to our emotions  Slaves to our devotions  Slaves to our addictions  Slaves to traditions Slaves without conviction Slaves without a vision  Slaves in all position  Slaves to our health, needing medication Slaves to an Education Slaves needing dedication  Slaves in our reading and meditation Slaves to our self  Slaves to sin  Slaves t...

Slaves and slavery

Image
Slavery You can never talk about history without slavery,  Birthed from a feeling of superiority, Society placed us in social strata But who is society? he rich, the labour, or the hungry beggar? Questions no man answered  sure swords were unsheathed, Guns and whips were not inhibited, but who made you a slave?  Owner, who put you in chains? Or You who could not stand for your gain? Egyptians held israelites for many years, building pyramids even while in tears, they say the Egyptians made them so, but the Pharaohs were scared of Jacobs people. Their numbers were multiple , they were the matrons in the hospital, but why could they not stand for the freedom of their people? Freedom! all men are freeborn. so when you are carrying bricks in another man's Kingdom know it's your decision. Some claim victims of war, circumstances or religion  But I say victims of fear. not fear of a man or gun.. but fear of standing for your will. Fear of death...

Maybe the last post for today but this work by a beautiful legend, I just had to post it.

STILL I RISE!!! By Maya Angelou(1928-2014) You may write me down in history  With your bitter, twisted lies,  You may trod me in the very dirt  But still, like dust, I'll rise.  Does my sassiness upset you?  Why are you beset with gloom?  'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells  Pumping in my living room.  Just like moons and like suns,  With the certainty of tides,  Just like hopes springing high,  Still I'll rise.  Did you want to see me broken?  Bowed head and lowered eyes?  Shoulders falling down like teardrops,  Weakened by my soulful cries?  Does my haughtiness offend you?  Don't you take it awful hard  'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines Diggin' in my own backyard.  You may shoot me with your words,  You may cut me with your eyes,  You may kill me with your hatefulness,  But still, like air, I'll rise.  Does my sexiness upset you?...

Don't Quit!!!

Image
When the ups are down And the top suddenly so far away When your tools fail And your balance seem to sway Don't quit! If your wings break, RUN if your strength fails, WALK If your legs wail, CRAWL If you die, then you die But as long as you are living Don't stop moving!!!

Cant help appreciating this raw form of poetry by Kendrick Lamar

Image
Sometimes your emotions go on overdrive, and you know the only way you can express your self is by putting your emotions to word. Loving you is complicated, loving you is complicated Loving you is complicated, loving you is complicated Loving you is complicated, loving you is complicated Loving you is complicated, loving you is complicated Loving you is complicated, loving you is complicated I place blame on you still, place shame on you still Feel like you ain't shit, feel like you don't feel Confidence in yourself, breakin' on marble floors Watchin' anonymous strangers, tellin' me that I'm yours But you ain't shit, I'm convinced your tolerance nothin' special What can I blame you for, nigga I can name several Situations, I'll start with your little sister bakin' A baby inside, just a teenager, where your patience? Where was your antennas, where was the influence you speak of? You preached in front of 100,000 but never r...

Just a normal day for someone in Nigeria

Image
Thatch house sometimes can be a castle, When you're living in harsh reality, you've to hustle, Every morning, we go out everything's a struggle, Got to get a bus quick, others just a huddle, Set your mind is everyman for himself, Life is no fairy tale for no one is an elf Even salvation is personal Bed of roses is imaginal Think back to the days when i had no care Thought like a child, i had no fears Then Only had love and smiles to share But reality changed me When i realised i was no baby I dropped my fantasies, no time to be lazy Got to eat today, tomorrow might be hazy Cant believe i once thought life would be easy Had no worries going from place to place with so much effizy Had no reason to work, only fun kept us busy But fun now? All we've got is sun now Milk the cow Work the plough Teach in schools Making shoes Everybody has to work now. They say money rules the world Get the money, youve got the word If mans the apex of evolution,then...

When that one person you get scared to love, finally leaves...

The moment you realise you love the person after letting them go... I never wanted to believe The words you said  Memories we shared  Keeping you out of my head  Cause I was so scared  Now you stuck in my heart  But I have set us apart  Really wish I cared  For now it's lonely in my bed  ain't goin to share tears Comes with being a man  But now you're not around And all I have is my fears Tired of been strong  Telling lies for so long  Just feels so wrong  That you and I don't belong  Like B-ball and ping pong  Was my alarm and my favourite song  Restless now when it resounds in my ear  Truth is I miss you even more than I can tell And this wasn't what I expected Never planned for it but now all my walls have melted  And am searching for your voice in the air Illusive but I need my teddy bear. The one who will always care. Wondering if you a...

A tear for terror

Reminiscing on the Paris attacks, and all acts of terror over the world especially Nigeria my country moved me to write this...old though!!! Pow the sound of gunshots Bomb goes off and another life is lost Beautiful eyes forever to be shut All for a man's greed, doesn't matter the cost No love for other people Throats slit damn this is evil Yet They call it religion But shouldn't it be our decision Houses and properties ransacked Hunger killing the baby on the mum's back good health and life, ever in lack With fear thriving and hope lost in the dark. Peace to my father land Tired of these killings and the red blooded sand The earth weeps daily at the handwork of man's hand This peace seems superficial a grail that can not be found Terror in our territory silent noise now audible in the cry of captivity Planes shot down never before seen in history Blackened hearts oh God save man from this depravity Paris my beautiful Paris You were a dre...

Beauty and you!!!

WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL? I looked at her eyes  Shining perfectly with her smile  Curved lips that extends like a mile  And cute nose that in between lies Going down to her shape She is a perfect 8 Slender like a drape  But with curves rightly placed She walks with elegance and grace  Dressed from top to bottom in a stylish lace  Fitting flawlessly without excess space  With Little make - up to compliment her pretty face She spoke  And butterflies in my tummy awoke  With eloquence each word spoken in strokes  And right there I got lost in her physical looks. I gazed at her appearance  From a close distance  And forgot about her true significance  Her real beautiful that's farther from a glance. You are beautiful  Not because of your ample bossom  Nor the wavy nature of your hairs full blossom Goes beyond your unblemished skin A coating for the flesh tin...
Choices Some say free will is an illusion that limits a man to impossibilities. Do u think same? Few say its an excuse man gives to live carelessly, while others claim its God's gift to man. What do u believe? Are you choices really yours,  or someones plot you are acting? What if we are just pieces on a chess board,  been given a voice command,  but thinks it moves on its own accord? ARE OUR CHOICES REALLY OURS?
